Sterling's new line of waterproof battery-to-battery (B2B) chargers can now offer all the programmability and flexibility of the BB Ultra line in a new waterproof package. It now incorporates a fan.
The external positioning of the fan (IP56 sealed) allows it to be safely destroyed in the event of total product immersion. In this situation, the product will continue to operate, but will not benefit from the advanced cooling. The fan can be replaced easily and inexpensively. In the event of a fan failure, the product will continue to operate, but its performance will be reduced to that of a non-fan cooled product.
This new model of battery charger allows a battery bank to be recharged much more quickly and completely from the alternator. It is easy to install and some models provide voltage conversions. This totally waterproof model has electronics embedded in the epoxy, which allows it to be IP67 waterproof. Its power is 400W.

The battery charger is connected in the same way as a relay. It allows the efficient charging of the connected battery bank from the alternator. The current entering the battery bank is limited by the nominal value of the device. The battery charger starts at 13.2 V and stops at 13.0 V, so it does not discharge the input battery. With the "Ignition Feed" mode, special for regenerative brakes, the charger works down to 10.0 V. |
