The Sterling alternator controller ensures a fast and 100% recharge of the battery pack. The result is identical to that of alternator chargers or battery to battery chargers.
The installation is more complex because it is necessary to intervene on the alternator (access to the brushes).

The charging performances obtained from the alternator become equivalent to those of the most sophisticated shore power chargers (three-phase charging cycle (boost, absorption, floating) by software control with temperature compensation of the battery park). This product is also called a booster because it can recharge a battery pack 3 to 5 times faster than with a conventional system. It will also be able to compensate for the voltage generated by a diode charge distributor insofar as the reference voltage is taken directly from the service park.
The results obtained with the alternator regulator are equivalent to those of the alternator charger , which is easier to set up.

The external regulator takes the service fleet voltage and controls the alternator's electromagnet (rotor) to reduce or increase the alternator's power output to achieve the right charge for the service fleet. Sterling Power external regulators can either operate stand-alone (without the original alternator regulator) or in parallel with the existing regulator to increase the level of redundancy. Mounting the alternator controller requires access to the brush to provide access to the solenoid control. A splitter is also required if multiple battery banks are to be charged. |
