This waterproof relay is fully automatic and requires no control signal to activate. As soon as the motor battery voltage reaches 13.3V, the relay activates and couples the starter and service batteries. Similarly, as soon as the motor battery voltage drops below 12.9V, the relay will decouple the two batteries, as this means that the motor is stopped or that a consumer (e.g. windlass) is drawing current from the starter battery and should be isolated.
